Animation Basics: Character Rigging
Hands-on workshop for teens and adults
Wednesday, June 03
4:00pm - 5:00pm
Main Library
Digital Media LabLearn about 2D character animation from a Digital Media Lab specialist as we cover rigging techniques in ToonSquid. Registration is required.
Animation is a broad term that encompasses a vast many techniques, so in this program, patrons will learn about a specific, character-focused style of animation called rigging. Rigging is a process by which a preexisting drawing is given a skeletal structure that allows individual points to move without having to redraw every frame. If that sounds complicated, don't worry – the class is designed for beginners and intermediate animators alike! We will encourage patrons to draw their own simple characters at the start, but presets are available for those intimidated by drawing. The class will focus on one specific app called ToonSquid and will be offered on iPads provided by the Digital Media Lab.
Registration is required.
Attendee spots are limited. If you registered for this program and are no longer able to attend, do one of the following:
- Use the link and registration reference number from the "You're Registered" email you received.
- Call the library's Digital Media Lab at 317.814.3999.
