Celebrate the past with the Digital Media Lab's Uncovering History photography contest. Entry deadline is July 31, 2026.

History is not just found in books—there are stories in everything around us. Grab your camera or even your phone and join us in capturing those stories via photograph! Look for landscapes, people, architecture, dynamic scenes or whatever else you think captures the passage of time, old stories, or history in its broadest sense. Then send us your best photo for a chance to win a gift card from Roberts Camera and have your work displayed in the Digital Media Lab. 

Winners will be selected in both Youth (under age 18) and Adult (age 18+) divisions. 

Entries may be submitted from June 29 to July 31, 2026.

Contest Notes and Guidelines

  • Open to Carmel Clay Public Library cardholders.
  • Youth (under 18) and Adult (18+) divisions. Youth division requires parental approval on entry form.
  • Winners receive an opportunity for a showcase of their photography at the library's Digital Media Lab.
  • Only one entry per person, please.
  • For judging purposes, the file size of submissions should be large enough to be printed at 11" x 14" (3,300 pixels x 4,200 pixels or larger)
  • You retain all rights to your image, but by submitting your entry, you give the library the right to print up to one (1) copy for judging and display. We also reserve the right to post your image on our social media, with appropriate credit to you, for contest promotion.
