Join Montoya Barker, the Special Collections Librarian at the Indianapolis Public Library, for an incredible program on America's old "Mother Road." Registration is required.

From the back roads of Illinois to the sunny west coast, take an illustrated jaunt back in time and revisit America’s historic main streets. Learn about the Green Book, a travel guide identifying businesses that would accept African American customers that was published during the segregation era. Discover what it’s like to travel America’s old “Mother Road” today, where you’re likely to find murals, old neon signs, or service stations as well as other popular roadside attractions.
