All library locations will be closed on Sep 1 & 2 for the Labor Day holiday. More details »
Help us celebrate Photography Month by participating in our portrait photography contest! Click the program title for full contest details. Entry deadline is July 20.
Grab your camera or phone, capture creative and dynamic photographs, and share your best one with us (and potentially the community). Portrait photography is a genre of photography that focuses on a person, or group of people, as the main subject. One of the main things we will be looking for among the submissions is a photo that tells a story. Capture the personality, mood, and energy of the subject. Use vivid colors to your advantage, or lean into lighting and contrast with a black-and-white photo. Choose a busy or serene setting, or blur the background out entirely. However you choose to construct your photographic scene, tell us a story through your art.
Enter by July 20 for a chance to have it displayed in our gallery space at the Digital Media Lab in the Main Library.
