Author Nicola Harrison shares her new book "The Island Club." Registration is required for this free author event.

In 1956 on sun-soaked Balboa Island, three women facing unraveling lives find unexpected strength in friendship—and in the game of tennis. Milly Kinkaid’s move to the island was meant to save her failing marriage, but her husband is drifting further away. Society matriarch Sylvia Johnson risks losing everything when her husband’s financial missteps endanger their new venture, The Island Club. And reclusive Adele Lambert fears her long‑buried past will be exposed, threatening the fragile anonymity she’s fought to protect. Set against the seemingly perfect 1950s California coast, The Island Club explores love, loneliness, hidden truths, and the hope that comes when secrets finally surface.

Born and raised in England, Nicola Harrison moved with her family to Southern California when she was 14. She is a graduate of UCLA and received her MFA from Stony Brook University. Prior to writing novels, she worked as a fashion journalist in New York City, where she lived for 17 years. Now she resides in Manhattan Beach, California, with her husband and two sons and a high-maintenance chihuahua named Lily.
