Teens Program Room

A quiet afternoon challenge on the weekend! This volunteer opportunity is open to all interested teens in grades 6-12.

Help foster a culture of reading for pleasure! The challenge is simple: show up, check in at the TEENS desk, and silently read in public in the Teens area of the library. Bring your own books or bring a library card to borrow some of ours. You can even bring your own cozy reading supplies, if you like. Come alone or bring a friend or two. The only rule is: read silently!

Teen Volunteer Corps members will earn up to 2 hours of community service for participating. If you haven’t joined the TVC yet, applications are available online and are accepted year-round from students in grades 6-12. You can even fill one out at this event!
