This 4-week course will help students in grades 5–8 begin their journey into programming by introducing and teaching them Python, one of the world's most versatile and used programming languages. Through a combination of fun, hands-on activities and mathematical concepts, students will gain proficiency in both programming syntax and problem solving. The course is facilitated by AcademiaEdge, a student-led nonprofit organization aimed to teach programming and problem-solving skills that is comprised of Carmel High School students.
This 4-week introductory course takes each Saturday in February from 10–11:30am. Registration for the event includes participation in all four programs. Students registering for the event will be required to set up a Replit account in advance by clicking here. Registrants will need to bring their own laptops or Chromebooks.
