Author and actor Andrew McCarthy shares his new book "Who Needs Friends." Tickets are $35 per person and include a pre-signed copy of the book. Presented by the CCPL Foundation and Morgenstern Books.

Who Needs Friends: An Unscientific Examination of Male Friendship Across America is a 2026 nonfiction book by actor and author Andrew McCarthy, chronicling his 10,000-mile road trip to reconnect with old friends and explore the challenges of male friendship in America. The book is a blend of travelogue, memoir, and social commentary, featuring conversations with diverse men from cowboys to musicians, revealing a widespread difficulty in forming and maintaining deep bonds due to vulnerability and cultural norms. 

Presented by the Carmel Clay Public Library Foundation in partnership with Morgenstern Books. Ticket price of $35 includes a pre-signed copy of Who Needs Friends. Each guest attending needs their own ticket. For more information, please contact the CCPL Foundation at 317.814.3905.
