Play and challenge other local chess players of all skill levels in preparation for the chess tournament coming in January 2023. This program is open to anyone ages 5 and up. Registration recommended.

Drop in for open chess practice in preparation for CCPL’s first ever Chess Tournament in January 2023! All are welcome—ages 5 through 105, beginners to advanced. We'll have No Stress Chess for those just starting out, plenty of boards for those ready to take the gambit, and iPads for those preferring a digital touch. We plan to have varying levels of competitiveness. Whether you want to play head-to-head against someone to boost your rating, enjoy a relaxing game and make a new friend, or take a chance in our 4-player board, we have it all! Advance registration is recommended.

Gambit 425 will be practicing on the following Tuesdays from 6:30–7:30pm:

  • October 18
  • November 1, 15, and 29
  • December 6 and 13

The library will host a tournament complete with prizes and trophies in early January!
