Celebrate the 250th birthday of the USA with a free concert of American Fiddle and Folk music. Registration is encouraged.
Emily Ann & Kelly Thompson perform fiddle music and traditional songs from the time of the early American settlers, mainly focusing on fiddle music from the birth of our country in 1776 to the early 1900s. This program includes Old-time, Appalachian, Cajun, and Bluegrass fiddling, American folk songs, and African-American spirituals. Emily Ann demonstrates how Irish, Scottish, French, African, and other cultures' traditional music influenced the new American styles. Emily Ann plays violin, does clogging, and sings. Her husband Kelly plays guitar and sings. Their program is very dynamic, energetic, and educational, and often people can’t resist clapping, tapping, singing, and even sometimes dancing!
Registration is encouraged.
