Have your children's vision tested before or after you attend storytime on September 21! Vision problems affect 3 to 4 percent of preschool children. If some problems are not detected early, a child's vision may deteriorate to the point of irreversible blindness. Screenings by Lion volunteers can help identify children that need to see an optometrist or ophthalmologist for a full eye exam. No appointment is necessary, and the screening is free.
Please fill out a consent form in advance and bring it to Kids Study Room 1A at the Main Library when you arrive for your child's screening:
Operation KidSight Consent Form (English)
Operation KidSight Consent Form (Spanish)
If you have questions about the process, please contact Operation KidSight at kidsight@att.net or 317.220.8486.
Operation KidSight is a statewide vision-screening program that identifies treatable or preventable causes of blindness in preschool children (ages 18 months – 6 years).
