Meeting Room BJoin over eighty other libraries across the country as we celebrate Family History Day with a genealogy marathon. Registration is required, but you may attend just the sessions that interest you.
To celebrate Family History Day on October 17, we're offering five pre-recorded genealogy lectures throughout the day. While registration includes signing up for the whole day, you can come and go to whatever sessions you like. Stay afterwards to work on your genealogy project using your laptop and our WiFi, or use one of our public computers.

- 9:25–9:30am - Opening remarks
- 9:30–10:50am - The Stories of Our Lives: Beginning Your Family History (Curt Witcher)
- 10:50–11:00am - Break
- 11:00–11:50am - From Names to Narratives: A Simple Guide to Writing (Hannah Kubacak)
- 11:50am–1:00pm - Long break (bring a sack lunch or eat at a nearby restaurant)
- 1:00–1:50pm - Following a Civil Case Through Documents Filed in Court (J. Mark Lowe)
- 1:50–2:00pm - Break
- 2:00–2:50pm - Family Trees Get Smart: AI as Your Genealogy Assistant (Sherri Taggart Ahmadzadeh)
- 2:50–3:00pm - Break
- 3:00–3:50pm - All in the Family: Using Collateral Research to Build Your Family Tree (Sandra Crowley)
This free event is coordinated in partnership with the Waco-McLennan County Library, the Central Texas Genealogical Society, and the Texas State Genealogical Society and generously shared throughout the United States.
This program is for adults. Registration is required. If you are unable to attend the event, please cancel your reservation so someone on the waitlist can join. If you are on the waitlist, attend only if you get a confirmation email indicating that a spot has opened up for you. Staff members will be taking attendance.
