Discovery Room

(Ages 6–8) Join us to discuss the chapter book series I Survived and participate in STEAM winter challenges. Read the full description for important info about choosing your book and registering.

After you register, you can stop by the Kids Desk at the Main Library to choose a title within the series, or we can email you a list to choose your title for pickup at the West Branch. Then, when we meet on February 20, you will give a brief book talk about the title you chose! We will also discuss the character traits it takes to survive life’s storms. Following our discussion, we will learn about the Children’s Blizzard of 1888 and experiment with insulation.

Registration is required and begins January 23. To ensure successful signup, each child age 6–8 needs to be registered separately, using the child's first and last name—not the parent's name—on the registration form. A library card number is not required. Siblings are welcome and don't need to register.
