Free online workshop for students interested in improving their history and social studies grades through improved reading, note-taking, and study strategies. Registration is required.
This workshop will help students to improve history and social studies grades through improved reading, note-taking, and study strategies. Many students struggle with discerning what key facts, dates, and events should be memorized in their history studies. This workshop will help students move from tedious memorization exercises to making connections between events, people, and themes and their own understanding of the material, enabling them to better comprehend and retain relevant knowledge. Through the skills learned in this workshop of learning how to actively read, taking structured and organized notes, and studying with purposeful activities, students will be better able to recollect necessary information for exams and assessments. Students will also have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the workshop about topics that may not have been addressed. This workshop is presented by College Tutors.
