All skill levels and experience are welcome. Players with no experience are asked to watch the short informational video before attending (found in the description below). Registration recommended.
Join us for a new summer program that is designed specifically for middle school students who have an interest in being an even better Dungeons & Dragons player or DM (Dungeon Master). All skill and experience levels are welcome at these events if you bring the excitement and energy. However, we request players with no experience watch this short informational video before attending.
Over the summer, there will be 6 total meetings of the D&D Academy. Each meeting will consist of an informational session for the first half, followed by what we call "the gauntlet" where you get to put your newly learned skills to the test.
For those who simply want to play in more standard one-shot style sessions, we will have other events this summer in addition to this club that you can participate in. (Days and times coming soon)
Registration is not required but is strongly recommended so that we can anticipate an accurate number of attendees and plan accordingly.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: The format of this club will NOT be long-form storytelling and adventures. This is more of an exploration of Dungeons & Dragons and its rules, both for players and student DMs, and will feature one-shot-style, mini-adventure encounters. If you meet other like-minded adventurers during this club, you may want to gather on your own for more in-depth adventures outside of these specific club times.
If your teen needs special accommodations for this program to be successful, please let us know by calling Teen Librarian, Zach Reynolds, at 317.814.3961 or by emailing youngadult@carmelclaylibrary.org.
