(Grades 3–5) Join us on 3/16 or 4/20 to paint a country road using the one-point perspective technique. Read the full description for info about registration and picking up artists who finish early.
Choose the date that works best for you—March 16 or April 20—and join us to paint a country road inspired by artist Grant Haffner's love of road trips, landscapes, utility poles, and the technique of one-point perspective. In this fun program, we'll guide you step-by-step in painting a solitary road being kept company by a line of telephone poles, all leading to hills on the horizon.
Beginners are most welcome—no experience is necessary. We'll be using permanent, acrylic paints, so please wear clothes that can get stained, just in case.
Registration begins March 9 for March 16's program. Participants must be in grades 3–5. To ensure successful signup, each child needs to be registered separately, using the child's first and last name on the registration form. A library card number is not required.
Although some participants may paint for the entire length of the program, we ask caregivers to be available in the Kids Area before the program's end time for those who finish early. All children in grade 5 and below must have a caregiver on library premises during the program.
