Join us as we commemorate Juneteenth with an artistic interpretation of the lives of Madam C.J. Walker and Ida B. Wells. Registration is required.
Indianapolis-based performance duo Soulful Journeys of Women performs an artistic interpretation of the lives of Madam C.J. Walker and Ida B. Wells.
Created in 2022, Soulful Journeys of Women is a result of the energy and efforts of Donnice Robinson and Tracey Wynn. Donnice and Tracey focus their performances on notable women of color with strong social, political, and spiritual influences that impact their communities throughout American history. Donnice is a passionate actress and educator with a deep love for bringing history to life through performance. A woman in history that inspires Donnice is Cicely Tyson due to her acting abilities along with her involvement in the Civil Rights Movement. Tracey studied Speech, Communications, and Theatre at Tennessee State University. A woman who has inspired Tracey throughout her career is Tracey's mother, who was a business owner in the 1960s during a time where black women weren't able to establish businesses.
