Any high school student who enjoys playing D&D or wants to learn the basics can join for a mini adventure that will teach newcomers and entertain experienced players alike.

If you've ever had the desire to learn how to play Dungeons & Dragons, this is your chance. If you like playing the game but don’t have a group to play with or want more opportunities to play, we have just the thing. Twice a month you can come and play a mini adventure that will be fun for all experience levels—no experience is needed. All you need to bring is yourself and an adventurous spirit. We'll provide the rest, but you're more than welcome to bring your favorite dice, a journal, or any other adventuring gear. Each individual session is a completely different story, so feel free to come to as many or as few as you like.

For those experienced with the game, you are encouraged to build and bring your own 3rd level character using any of the official D&D source books. This program is not designed for full campaigns or adventure paths, so use this program to try out all your different character ideas.

If you would like a chance to try being a Dungeon Master (DM), stick around after the session from 5:30–6:00pm, and we'll go over some tips and tricks as well as find a time you can lead a session.

The game will start at 4:30pm, but the doors will open at 4:15pm to come in to get settled and meet your fellow adventurers for the evening.

This event is for grades 9–12. Registration is not required but is strongly encouraged to better help plan the sessions.

If your teen needs special accommodations for this program to be successful, please let us know by calling the Teen Services Desk at 317.814.3983 or emailing youngadult@carmelclaylibrary.org.
