Learn how to make an easy, versatile, and delicious Italian loaf. It's a perfect bread for both first-time and experienced bakers. Registration is required.
Frank "The Bread Guy" Petrarca will share plenty of tips and tricks to make beautiful, tasty loaves every time. This is an interactive class, and participants can knead their dough in class and bake at home or just take the ingredients home to make at their convenience. See the various steps of the bread baking process such as mixing, kneading, shaping, and then comes everyone’s favorite part – eating it! Attendees are provided with the recipe and enough ingredients to mix their first loaf either in class or at home. It is recommended that attendees own a 9-inch loaf pan (no nonstick or glass pans) or a high-quality cookie sheet such as an “air bake” type for baking their bread at home.
About the presenter: Frank Petrarca has resided in Carmel for 23 years with his wife Theresa and has two adult children and a 13-year-old granddaughter. Originally from the Chicago area, Frank started baking the things he missed from his hometown like pizza and Italian bread. Frank got his nick name “Frank The Bread Guy” because he always brought breads to his home brewer’s club gatherings. Frank gave bread-baking demonstrations for three years at the Indiana State Fair and taught hands-on classes for four years in addition to his regular full-time IT job on weekends. Newly retired, Frank is focused on doing what he loves—teaching bread-baking classes!
