Join Teen Artist in Residence Gabriella Delgado as she teaches a painting workshop exploring the wild, fantastical world of alebrijes. For teens in grades 6–12. Registration is required.
Alebrijes are Mexican folk art sculptures traditionally carved from wood or made from papier-mâché. These imaginary, mythical creatures are considered spirit guides and are painted with bright colors and intricate patterns. Teens participating in this workshop will receive an unpainted alebrije 3D-printed from wood filament. Using acrylic paints, you will paint your wooden creature in a style common to traditional alebrijes. Registration is required.
