Learn about film photography. This program is designed for adults and teens, and registration is required.

Film photography has been increasing in popularity over the last several years as more and more people experience photography with film for the first time. Taking photos with film forces you to slow down, carefully consider your composition and settings, and it may help you to become a better overall photographer.


Few new film cameras are being produced, and film itself can be difficult to find. Local film processors are also rare. This
program will help you:

  • Find a new or vintage film camera to purchase
  • Evaluate and test the camera prior to buying
  • Understand typical film camera features
  • Understand loading and operating a film camera
  • Find locations to buy and process film
  • Understand digital resources to work with your film photos

Instant film cameras will not be covered.  Registration is required. The Digital Media Lab is located at 23 E Main Street, Suite 100.
