Create and share photos of a craft or art piece that represents a book you've enjoyed. This online volunteer opportunity is open to all interested teens in grades 6-12.

Get creative, earn volunteer hours, and contribute to an artful book recommendation list where pictures are worth a thousand words by participating in Crafty Book Recommendations! All you have to do is create an art piece or craft that represents a YA book between October 1 through December 30. You could create a scene, a collage of multiple scenes, a representation of themes, the setting, characters, or anything else that has to do with the book you choose. When you've finished, take a picture of your masterpiece and email it to youngadult@carmel.lib.in.us along with the title of the book you are representing, its author, and the subject line "Crafty Book Recommendations." Submissions will be collected and made available to the public as a new way for readers to find their next great YA read.

For each Crafty Book Recommendation submitted, you can receive 1 volunteer service hour. If you would like to receive credit for your volunteer hours, please make sure you are a member of the library's Teen Volunteer Corps before you submit your artwork.
