Create and share photos of a craft or art piece that represents a book you've enjoyed. This online volunteer opportunity is open to all interested teens in grades 6-12.
Get creative, earn volunteer hours, and contribute to an artful book recommendation list where pictures are worth a thousand words by participating in Crafty Book Recommendations! All you have to do is create an art piece or craft that represents a YA book between October 1 through December 30. You could create a scene, a collage of multiple scenes, a representation of themes, the setting, characters, or anything else that has to do with the book you choose. When you've finished, take a picture of your masterpiece and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org along with the title of the book you are representing, its author, and the subject line "Crafty Book Recommendations." Submissions will be collected and made available to the public as a new way for readers to find their next great YA read.
For each Crafty Book Recommendation submitted, you can receive 1 volunteer service hour. If you would like to receive credit for your volunteer hours, please make sure you are a member of the library's Teen Volunteer Corps before you submit your artwork.
