This annual Women in Leadership event provides an opportunity to discuss inspirational and honest advice for women working in leadership positions. Panelists share their experiences and engage in discussions with a multi-generational audience. Registration is required.
Panelists
Sally Cutler brings a rich background in communications, customer service, event planning, and historical preservation. She has served in key marketing and communications roles at Alpha Chi Omega and her alma mater, Butler University, where she also guided strategy and stakeholder engagement. Sally additionally stepped in as interim CEO for Alpha Chi Omega and later returned as the organization’s historian and archivist. She has authored history installments for Alpha Chi Omega and wrote the Village of WestClay’s 25th‑anniversary history book. In her current role with the Village of WestClay Owners Association, Sally leads communications, resident services, and a full calendar of community events. Sally continues to empower women through Alpha Chi Omega’s Sister Outreach Team. Sally lives in the Village of WestClay with her husband, Jay, and their Wheaten Terrier, Kingston.
Akilah Darden is a nationally recognized construction management leader with more than $2 billion in completed commercial projects and a proven record of delivering excellence. She recently supported procurement for a $4B hospital campus and is known for driving impact both on the job site and in the community. A passionate advocate for equity in the industry, Akilah creates intentional opportunities for diverse vendors and workforces and equips professionals through her award‑winning Construction Management Masterclass. Her leadership has earned numerous honors, including the Indiana 250, the AIA Indiana Walter S. Blackburn Award, NAWBO’s Trailblazer Award, and the IBJ Women of Influence. Akilah is also co-author—with her four children—of the internationally acclaimed book My Mom is a Construction Manager, inspiring the next generation to see themselves in the industry. She continues to champion innovation, access, and opportunity everywhere she leads.
Deborah Wood launched Deborah Wood & Associates in 1994, growing it over three decades into a respected family of healthcare agencies known for strong values and a commitment to excellence. Under her leadership, the organization became an industry leader in medical education and communications, making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes. In 2024, Deborah retired as the company entered its next chapter by joining the Real Chemistry family, ensuring her legacy continues through a powerful new partnership. Today, Deborah remains active in her church and community and is enjoying more time with her family.
