Bestselling author Kristina McMorris shares her new book "The Girls of Good Fortune." Registration is required for this free author event.

Kristina McMorris is a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author of two novellas and seven historical novels, including the million-copy bestseller Sold on a Monday and, most recently, the instant international bestseller The Ways We Hide, selected as one of Target’s top five reads of 2022. A recipient of more than twenty national literary awards, she previously hosted weekly TV shows for Warner Bros. and an ABC affiliate. Kristina splits her time between San Diego and Portland, Oregon.

Her new novel The Girls of Good Fortune, a captivating tale of resilience and hope that explores the complexity of family and identity, the importance of stories that echo through generations, and the power of strength found beneath the surface. In 1888 Oregon, Celia awakens drugged and disguised in the Shanghai Tunnels, realizing she’s been abducted to be sold into forced labor. As a half-Chinese woman passing as white in a time of deep prejudice, she must navigate a web of secrets involving a corrupt mayor, a miners' massacre, and a child in danger. Racing against time, Celia fights to escape and uncover the truth, where survival means confronting the past and the peril it still holds.
