Did you know a third of all food grown in the U.S. is wasted? Learn how you can make a difference in your own household and get great composting tips.
Did you know a third of all food grown in the US—about 78 million tons a year—is wasted? It ends up in landfills, in incinerators, or rotting in fields, contributing to hunger and climate change. Madeline and Paul Schiffman, leaders of Sustain E3 at Eight Eleven Group, will discuss food waste and how you can help. Linda Downer, a Carmel Green Initiative board member and master composter, will show easy it is to compost at home. Heather Lawson, owner of Earth Mama, will talk about compost collection services.
Presented in partnership with the Carmel Green Initiative.
