Celebrate Black History Month with a look at the fascinating history behind Hamilton County's Roberts Settlement, a community founded by free Black families in the 1830s. Registration is required.

Roberts Settlement was an African-American pioneer settlement established in 1835 in Jackson Township, Hamilton County. The earliest members of this community were free Black families who left North Carolina and Virginia to ensure they remained free. The Roberts Chapel built in 1858 still stands. Bryan Glover, himself a Roberts Settlement descendant, shares the powerful history of this community. Presented in partnership with Carmel Clay Historical Society and the Carmel Clay Public Library Foundation. Registration is required.
