Connecting your computer or device to a study room screen

    Quick Start

    On the switch next to the wall-mounted screen, press ON.

    Press HDMI 1 to connect via the HDMI cable.

    OR

    Press HDMI 2 to connect wirelessly. Then follow the on-screen prompts. (See below for complete details.)

    Casting wirelessly

    On the switch next to the wall-mounted screen, press Display > ON. Press HDMI 2.

    Connecting

    1. Connect your computer or device to the CCPL wireless network.

      LAPTOP/CHROMEBOOK: In your internet browser’s address box, type whatever follows https:// in step 2
      on the wall screen and press Enter. Then click Share my Screen.

      Don't worry if you encounter a privacy warning screen. This alert is simply to remind you that you're connecting through a public network.

      Click Proceed or Continue. (This option may be under Advanced.)
      Alternatively, you can connect directly to the screen via an HDMI cable using the steps in the next section.

      ANDROID: Download the free Solstice Mirror app. When prompted, type in whatever follows https:// in step 2
      on the wall screen.

      APPLE: Use AirPlay, and select the room number that’s shown on the wall screen.

    2. Enter the code shown on the wall screen. If prompted, enter your name and click Launch.

      LAPTOP/CHROMEBOOK: You can now choose which window or tab to share. Make sure to check the Share system audio box if you want to share audio, too. Then click Share.

    Note that the wall switch also has volume buttons you can adjust.

    Disconnecting

    LAPTOP/CHROMEBOOK: Close the Solstice Quick Connect tab in your browser.

    ALL USERS: Press OFF on the wall switch.

    Connecting with HDMI

    Connect your computer or device to an HDMI cable. (Teens Study Room users, ask at the Teens Desk if you need to borrow an HDMI cable.) On the switch next to the wall-mounted screen, press Display > ON. Press HDMI 1. (Note that only one device can be connected to the screen at a time if you’re using HDMI.) When you’re finished, press OFF on the wall switch and return the HDMI cable if you borrowed one.
