On Monday, April 8, 2024, Carmel will be in the path of a total solar eclipse for the first time in 819 years.
The total eclipse will happen at 3:06pm and will last for 3 minutes and 29 seconds.
Note that all Carmel Clay Public Library locations, including the parking garage, will be closed on the day of the eclipse, April 8.
The library no longer has eclipse glasses available.
A number of special viewing events will be set up around Carmel and Hamilton County. See a list of these community events here.
Please note that local and regional traffic is expected to be extremely heavy on the day of the eclipse. Use caution and allow plenty of extra travel time.
