Voting at the Main Library

    Early voting in the May 2024 primary election at the Main Library is open to all Hamilton County residents who are registered to vote. (Check your voter registration status here.)

    The Main Library is located at 425 E. Main Street, Carmel, IN.

    Wednesday, April 24, 2pm–7pm

    Thursday, April 25, 2pm–7pm

    Friday, April 26, 10am–3pm

    Saturday, April 27, 10am–3pm

    Wednesday, May 1, 2pm–7pm

    Thursday, May 2, 2pm–7pm

    Friday, May 3, 10am–3pm

    Saturday, May 4, 10am–3pm

    Please note that the library, its parking areas, and the surrounding streets experience an especially high volume of traffic on weekdays from 3:30–4:30pm.

    Where to Park and How to Enter

    When voting at the Main Library, we recommend parking in the library parking garage on the south side of the building. Enter the garage through either of the entrances marked with a yellow arrow below.

    Voting will take place in Community Room A, located on the ground floor at the southwest corner of the library building. Enter through the marked exterior door (shown with green arrows below).

    What to Bring

    Bring your ID (Indiana Driver’s License, Indiana State ID, U.S. Passport, or U.S. Military ID).

    Your ID must meet the following requirements:

    • contain a photo
    • show your name
    • include an expiration date, which can be current or have expired after the date of the last general election (November 7, 2023)
    • be government issued by the state of Indiana (driver's license, state ID) or by the federal government (U.S. passport, U.S. military ID)

    Because the line for voting forms outside, you may want to bring an umbrella or jacket.

    Other Early Voting Locations

    Early voting for registered Hamilton County residents is also taking place in Carmel at Founders Park (Wilfong Pavilion, 11675 Hazel Dell Pkwy, Building A) and at West Park (Jill Perelman Pavilion, 3000 W 116th Street). Early voting at these two locations follows the same schedule listed above.

    Voting Absentee

    If you are interested in voting absentee by mail, review the requirements and application here. Applications must be received in the Hamilton County Elections Office by April 25, 2024 (before midnight).

    Voting on Primary Election Day (Tuesday, May 7)

    On primary election day, Hamilton County voters must vote at the polling place assigned to their precinct. Only voters who live in Carmel precincts Clay 52 and Clay 64 may vote at the library on Tuesday, May 7. Voting on primary election day is from 6am–6pm.
