Families with kids of all ages can create holiday greetings for active military members and mail them in our prepaid-postage envelopes.
Pick up a postcard kit and take it home to write a positive note or draw a happy picture for military service members to receive during the holiday season. Be sure to include your first name and age when you sign the card. (Caregivers, even squiggly pictures can be appreciated when an adult helps write the name and age of the child who created it!) Kits will be available beginning November 2 on a first-come, first-served basis at the Take-and-Make area inside the Merchants' Square Main Library, or you can request one at curbside pickup at either Merchants' Square or the West Branch. Each postcard is the repurposed front half of a holiday card from last year, so you're not only putting a smile on a service person's face but also keeping those cards out of the trash!
After creating your holiday greeting, have a parent help you address and mail the prepaid-postage envelope with your card by November 20 to Military Missions, a nonprofit organization that sends care packages to deployed military personnel all year round:
Military Missions, Inc.
3650 Boston Rd., Suite 138
Lexington, KY 40514
