The Carmel Clay Public Library strives to offer patrons enriching cultural and social experiences. The Art Wall Fundraiser brings diverse art and culture to the community by giving local artists the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work while raising funds for the library’s programs.
The Art Wall is located in the central lobby of the Main Library at 425 E Main Street. A different artist's work is featured each month.
30% of the proceeds from art purchased from the Art Wall goes to the CCPL Foundation, which in turn funds library programs and events for all ages. The sale of pieces from the Art Wall is administered by the Foundation Friends of the Carmel Clay Public Library. Art from the wall may be purchased through the Foundation Friends Bookstore in the Main Library.
To be considered, interested artists may submit an application and a portfolio no later than August 1 of each year for a spot on the wall the following year.
Artists will be notified of the committee’s decision after October 31. Accepted artists will be assigned their exhibit month and sent a packet of information. Alternate artists may be placed on a wait list and contacted if an exhibiting artist cancels.
Art is vetted by the CCPL Art Committee. The Carmel Clay Public Library retains complete discretion in the selection of artists and works to be displayed based on quality of the art and appropriateness for the venue. When possible, the committee strives to have a variety of different media represented over the course of the year.
