Be a part of The Great Sunflower Project! Take home a kit, grow your own sunflowers, and watch the pollinators they attract.
Celebrate Citizen Science Month by stopping at the Merchants' Square Main Library or Joyce Winner West Branch to pick up a Great Sunflower Grow Kit to take home (while supplies last). Each kit contains a packet of organic sunflower seeds, a peat pot with soil, and a specially designed zine with sunflower information and activities.
Have fun growing the sunflowers, and when they bloom you can become a citizen scientist by observing pollinators on the flowers and submitting your data to The Great Sunflower Project, which is a study of how pesticides affect pollinators.
Visit greatsunflower.com to find detailed instructions and tips for growing sunflowers, information about participating in The Great Sunflower Project, and much more.
