Online project for all ages to create a 3D planter and have it printed for free at the Digital Media Lab.
Celebrate Spring and Citizen Science Month by creating a custom 3D planter in Tinkercad! Two templates are available—a simple planter that's perfect for kids to create and a self-watering planter for teens and adults to customize.
After you create and decorate your planter, you can email the .STL file to 3dprints@carmel.lib.in.us. Our Digital Media Lab will 3D-print your model for free! All files must be received by May 1.
Here are the instructions for creating a simple planter in Tinkercad (a great option for kids).
This project is ideal for joining The Great Sunflower Project, which is a study of how pesticides affect pollinators. Visit greatsunflower.org to find detailed instructions and tips for growing sunflowers, information about participating in The Great Sunflower Project, and much more.
