Presented by radio historian and host Steve Darnall. Registration is required for this virtual event.
Celebrate the 100th year of radio by exploring how, in its Golden Age, radio used music, voices, and sounds to create indelible—and often frightening—pictures. Your host, Steve Darnell, will use sound clips from some of radio's best known mystery and horror programs, including Escape, Inner Sanctum, and Lights Out, to illustrate how radio could truly be a theater of the mind.
Darnell is a radio historian and the host of Those Were the Days, a weekly radio show from Chicago dedicated to the Golden Age of Radio.
This program is a live virtual event and will be held online via Zoom. Event login information will be emailed to registrants the day of the program, a couple hours before it begins.
