An online book club for girls ages 9-12 and their mothers or female caregivers. Registration is required and begins June 22.

This summer, mothers and daughters can connect over books and share their love of reading with us, using the easy online apps Padlet and Zoom! With each book, we'll have lots of fun interacting weekly through Padlet as we read. Then we'll get together live via Zoom to discuss our overall feelings about the book experience.

This month we're reading The Summer of the Gypsy Moths by Sara Pennypacker. A foster child named Angel and 12-year-old Stella, who are living with Stella's Great-Aunt Louise at the Linger Longer Cottage Colony on Cape Cod, secretly assume responsibility for the vacation rentals when Louise unexpectedly dies and the girls are afraid of being returned to the foster care system. Smart and diligent, if not friendly toward each other, the two girls form an uneasy alliance that gradually becomes a more lasting bond as they work together to hide their secret.

Registration is required and begins June 22 using the Register button above, and Padlet activities will be posted weekly beginning July 6. After you register, a staff member will email to discuss whether you'd like to read the book electronically or pick up a copy via our curbside service. The email will also contain a link for participating in the Padlet activities.

Our live Zoom virtual discussion will be at 6:30 p.m. on August 3. Zoom login information will be emailed to registrants that morning. Your registration allows your family to connect using only one device. Please do not connect with multiple devices.
